The character of timber, interpreted as a decorative finish.

Wood-imitation paint and textured wood effects bring grain, warmth and directional movement to a surface without relying on the appearance of a plain painted wall. SurfaceLab develops the colour, grain scale and layout around the architecture, from a warm timber-like frame to a more subtle, weathered effect.
Where this finish works in the design
Feature walls, entrance surrounds, columns, soffits and selected façade elements can take on a timber-inspired character. The decorative finish is not structural timber or timber cladding: the underlying surface and the chosen coating system remain important to the specification. Suitability is confirmed for the location and exposure.
Developing the grain and colour
We start with references and an approved sample. Grain direction, the contrast between light and dark tones, the scale of the pattern and any plank-style divisions are considered together. A fine grain gives a different result from a pronounced relief, and both should be reviewed at the intended viewing distance.

Details that make the result cohesive
Corners, returns, joints and edges need a consistent visual direction. We agree how the pattern continues across adjoining surfaces and how the finish meets glazing, stone and other materials. The sample establishes the colour and texture; preparation, application and protective treatment are selected for the actual substrate and setting.

From reference to final review
SurfaceLab coordinates finish selection, samples and specialist application for projects in Dubai and across the UAE. Share the location, approximate surface area, photographs or drawings and your preferred references. We review access, preparation, detailing and timing before defining the scope and price.
